One Life; One Body, Live it Well

We all want to look and feel our best, and a big part of that is being comfortable with our body shape and size.  While some of that is dictated by genetics, much  is the product of our lifestyle and we can make changes.

The lifestyle components which we are all familiar with are diet and exercise.  Our diets should contain ample portions of leafy green vegetables, several ounces of protein daily and limited refined carbohydrates or sugars.  Our lifestyle should include several weekly exercise sessions which could be as simple as a vigorous walk.

When consistent diet management and appropriate activity fail to achieve goals, we have to look at the bigger picture. We  consider what is happening, or not happening in our body, that stands in the way of weight loss.  One possibility is that the liver is storing fat instead of  burning it.  The MICC injection, (stands for Methionine, Inositol, Choline, L-Carnitine , and Cobalamim) can boost the livers function in the process of fat burning.   The ingredients are a combination of essential amino acids and vitamins that work together to support fat metabolism, boost energy levels, and promote overall well-being. Given weekly, these injections have helped many of our patients with weight loss and management.

Other individuals, who don’t loose weight with lifestyle changes, have problems with glucose control in their bodies.  Glucose levels are largely related to a balance of hormones; primarily insulin and glucagon.  For these individuals, we often turn to the medication Semaglutide. This is an injectable medication that promotes glycemic control through several mechanisms including delayed gastric emptying, and reducing glucagon after eating.  Individuals who receive Semaglutide  generally experience steady weight loss and do well. The most commonly reported side effects are nausea and diarrhea which are less problematic if the dose is slowly advanced.  For a number of reasons, Semaglutide should be given with medical supervision.

There are times when we all get “stuck” and need support to achieve our goals, and weight management is no different.  A professional consult and medical intervention may be what is needed to get back on track.  No medications take the place of a reasonable diet and regular exercise.  These are the fundamentals that will ensure a lifelong metabolic balance and body weight.
