While most of our treatments are relaxing and pleasant, there are a few which can cause discomfort. Thus, we have options available for people who are more or less sensitive.
For procedures that require numbing we use a customized cream which we have mixed at a compounding pharmacy. When you schedule a treatment that requires numbing, you will be scheduled to include numbing time. If you are sensitive and desire extra numbing time you are welcome to come in early and relax with numbing cream prior to your treatment. Cost: No charge
The zimmer is a machine that blows a stream of refrigerated air. When directed at the area being treated it will minimize discomfort. We use the Zimmer with profractions, Intensif, and occasionally with chemical peels.Cost: There is no additional charge when the Zimmer is used with a treatment
A small injection of lidocaine is sometimes needed in the area to be treated. After the first stick, the patient feels nothing. We sometimes use local lidocaine when removing larger skin lesions. Cost: There is a $20 additional charge for injections when removing skin lesions
For those who are very sensitive or anxious we use Pronox; a blend of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide. This helps people relax and have their treatment in the most comfortable way possible. Patient requiring Pronox will be monitored by a nurse while receiving it. Pronox leaves the blood stream very quickly and patients may drive their car safely and resume normal activities about 20 minutes after having had Pronox.
